Wastewater Plant Operator II

The City of Faribault has an opening for a full-time Wastewater Plant Operator II in the Public Works Department.

Position performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled technical and maintenance work in the operation, maintenance and repair of wastewater treatment facilities and systems.

Qualifications/Requirements
Education: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, and supplemented by two (2) years post-secondary college or technical training in biology, environmental science, chemistry, or a closely related field.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in a wastewater utility or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses and Certifications:
Class B Driver’s License with CDL.
Class D Certification as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator or ability to obtain within one year and the ability to obtain a Class C license within five years.
Must be able to obtain a Boilers License within the first year.

Work Hours
Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wage

$23.35/hour as to the Local 70 2015 and 2016 compensation agreement.

LIFEGUARDS
Hours:  Monday through Friday, 5:30 - 7:30 a.m.
Hours:  Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

WATER EXERCISE INSTRUCTORS
Hours:  Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30 - 9:30 a.m.
Hours:  Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

SEASONAL PARKS MAINTENANCE
