The City of Faribault is posting for future openings for full-time Police Officers.  This position is responsible for the protection of life and property, maintaining and restoring public order, prevention of crimes, apprehension of criminals, and enforcement of laws and ordinances in accordance with rules and regulations. Qualifications
Education:
Minimum Associates degree in law enforcement, criminal justice or a related field.

Licenses and Certifications:
License as a peace officer by the Minnesota Board of Peace Officers’ Standard and Training (P.O.S.T.)

Must possess a valid Minnesota driver’s license.

Other:
Must successfully complete a physical examination, psychological examination, drug and alcohol screening and background investigation.  No felony convictions.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of State Statutes and local ordinances.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge and experience in computer operations, including work processing.
Ability to cope with situations professionally, courteously and tactfully and with respect for the rights of the citizen.
Ability to acquire skills in the use and care of firearms.

Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor degree in law enforcement, criminal justice or related field.

Knowledge of modern police service delivery and investigation methods and procedures.  Knowledge of recent developments, current literature and sources of information regarding modern police methods, techniques and records.

Paid On-Call Firefighter

Position Functions
Primary responsibilities of this position are to protect life and property by performing firefighting activities, emergency aid and hazardous materials response, and fire prevention duties. This position may also be required to maintain fire equipment, apparatus and facilities. Paid on-call firefighters train to the same standards as full-time personnel.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Must possess a current and valid Minnesota Driver’s license.

All paid on-call firefighters shall have a response requirement of 15 minutes with the time measured from their residence to the fire station. All traffic regulations, including speed limits must be adhered to.

Must pass physical ability test.

Must be able to abide by all grooming standards set forth in guidelines.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

First Responder certification

Current EMT certification

MNEMSRB certification

Completed coursework in Firefighter I

Completed coursework in Firefighter II

Associates degree in fire science or related field

Paid On-call Firefighter Job Description

City Administrator

The City of Faribault is hiring a City Administrator.  

Faribault is a scenic community with thriving commerce and industry, a historic downtown, and well-blended housing development with a population of 23,352.

Qualifications for the position include a bachelor’s degree, though a master’s is preferred, and a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Chief Administrative Officer or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  The salary range for this position is$102,680 to $141,185.
