Rice County, in cooperation with the City of Faribault, will be holding an open house on Wednesday, June 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Rice County Highway Building (610 20th Street NW, Faribault) to discuss the Lyndale Ave. N (Hwy. 48)/Fourth Street NW improvement project. The meeting will be an open house format and attendees are encouraged stop by any time between 5 and 7 p.m. There will not be a formal presentation.
Lyndale Avenue (CSAH 48) and 4th Street are important roadways in the City of Faribault, serving residential, commercial and industrial areas. In an effort to reduce right-angle and left-turn crashes, a three-quarter intersection is proposed. A three-quarter intersection eliminates the minor side street (4th Street) left turns and through-movements. While the proposed intersection configuration will prevent left turns and through-movements from 4th Street, the area has good street connections to support vehicle rerouting and circulation within the local area of this intersection.
Please attend the open house to learn more about the CSAH 48 and 4th Street Intersection Improvement Project and provide your input on issues, needs and opportunities within the project area that are important to you. Your input is important to us. We look forward to talking with you at the open house.
