  1. Faribault Ukulele Network (F.U.N.) Jam Sessions

    May 23, 2019, 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM @ Buckham Memorial Library

    F.U.N. jam sessions are for ukulele players 16 and older. Participants must bring a ukulele, a tuner, and music stand and must know how to play at least 5 ukulele chords to attend these jam sessions. An option for less experienced players is the Library's Open Uke Hours where ukuleles and instruction for all ages is available.   2. Boomerang Bags Sewing Bees

    Do you love to sew or would you like to learn to sew? We need your help! Come to a Boomerang Bags Sewing Bee and help us create cloth tote bags for our community's Boomerang Bags initiative! Boomerang Bags is a grassroots, community-driven movement tackling plastic pollution at its source. Volunteers from all walks of life get together to make reusable ‘boomerang bags’ using recycled materials, as a means to provide a sustainable alternative to plastic bags. Seamsters under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult sewing companion. No registration required. Come and sew!

  1. 2019 Summer Library Program Kick Off Day!

    May 31, 2019, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

    The 2019 Summer Library Program will officially kick off on Friday, May 31! This program is for youth from birth through high school age. Come to the library and get a Reading & Activity Log starting at 9am on Friday, May 31. This is the first day to sign up but you can also sign up anytime throughout the summer. Read, be read to, listen to audiobooks, and complete fun activities any time between May 31 - August 31 to earn rewards. The first 500 youth to sign up will get a free one-time admission ticket to the Faribault Family Aquatic Center! After that we have Papa Murphy's "mini Murph" pizza certificates to give out!

Mark your calendar and come to the library’s Great Hall for training at ONE of the following sessions: Tuesday, May 28, 6:00-7:30pm OR Wednesday, May 29, 4:30-6:00pm OR Thursday, June 13, 2:00-3:30pm. Bring your completed Volunteen application with you to training. **In order to be a Volunteen, you must attend one of these training sessions, even if you have volunteered before.**
